401 · The access token is missing, expired, or not for this company.

404 · The period is not the caller's, or no disposition with this id belongs to that period.

A locked period is supposed to be settled. When something underneath it moves — the bank edits or withdraws an entry, a new entry lands inside the period, or a transaction one of its items points at changes — MagicDoor raises a disposition and marks the period invalidated. Every later period becomes impacted, because its opening balance rests on this one.

Acknowledging is not fixing

Acknowledging says a human has looked and is content to leave the locked figures as they are. If the change genuinely alters the reconciliation, reopen the period and redo it instead. A disposition is acknowledged once, on the period it directly affects — the impacted periods behind it clear themselves.
