Ask a landlord to verify
Emails the landlord on this address entry a link to a form asking whether the applicant paid on time, was ever evicted, and would be recommended. Generates a fresh access code and moves the entry to pending. Requires the rental_applications:write permission.

Response
204 · The verification email was sent. The response has no body — re-read the application to see the entry now `pending`.
400 · The entry has no landlord email address, the address is not a valid email, or the applicant has not consented — `verificationConsent` is false.
401 · The access token is missing, expired, or not valid.
403 · The caller is authenticated but does not hold the `rental_applications:write` permission.
404 · No address entry with this id exists on this rental application, or the rental application itself was not found.
MagicDoor refuses to contact the landlord unless verificationConsent is true on the address entry. That flag records the applicant agreeing to be checked with this particular landlord — do not set it on the applicant's behalf without their agreement.
Each call generates a new access code, which makes any link already in the landlord's inbox stop working. To nudge a landlord who has not answered yet, use Resend a landlord verification instead.
This is not gated on the application's status — it works on a draft, on a submitted application, and on a retracted one. Only the applicant-facing portal locks an application once it is submitted.
