Owners

Send an owner portal invite

Generates a fresh password for the owner, emails them an invite containing it, and returns that same password to you. Calling this replaces whatever password the owner had.

Authorization

Authorizationstringrequired
Bearer token — Send your API token in the Authorization header as Bearer <token>. Requests without a valid token are rejected with 401 Unauthorized.

Path parameters

ownerIdstringrequired

The owner. A Snowflake id, sent as a decimal string.

example: 1830472847398404097

Response

200 · The invite was sent and the owner's password was replaced.

newPasswordstringrequired

The password the owner has been given and can now sign in with. The same value was emailed to them. No example value is shown.

401 · The access token is missing, expired, or does not belong to a property manager.

404 · No owner with that id exists for the calling company. A record that belongs to another company is reported the same way as one that does not exist. The id you asked for is in `entityId`; `detail` names only the kind of record.

400 · The owner has no email address on file, so there is nowhere to send the invite. Nothing was changed.

422 · The owner has been deactivated.

This resets the owner's password

Despite the name, this is not just a reminder email. It asks MagicDoor to generate a new password for the owner, stores it, emails it to them in clear text along with a sign-in link, and returns it in the response. An owner who was already signed in and knew their old password will find it no longer works. Do not call it to nudge an owner who has simply not got round to signing in.

The call also stamps lastPortalInvite on the owner with the current time. The response body is deliberately shown without a value: it holds a live credential.
