Notification preferences

List notification preferences

Returns every notification that can reach the signed-in property manager, and whether each one currently does. These are the caller's own settings, not the company's — the answer changes with the token, not just the company.

GET
https://services.magicdoor.com/communications/company-portal/notifications/preferences

Authorization

Authorizationstringrequired
Bearer token — Send your API token in the Authorization header as Bearer <token>. Requests without a valid token are rejected with 401 Unauthorized.

Response

200 · The notifications aimed at property managers that are currently in service, as a bare array. There is no paging on this endpoint.

notificationDefinitionKeystringrequired

Identifies the notification, for example property-manager-move-out-request-created. This is the value you send back to switch it on or off.

namestring

The notification's name, as it should appear in a settings list.

subscriptionDescriptionstring

One line explaining what subscribing to this notification gets you.

categorystringrequired

A grouping for the settings screen, for example Leasing, Payments, Billing or Rental applications. It is free text set in code, so treat it as a label rather than a fixed set.

allowUnsubscribebooleanrequired

false for a notification the caller has no say over. It is listed so the settings screen can show everything that reaches them, but trying to switch it off is rejected.

enabledbooleanrequired

Whether this notification currently reaches the caller. A notification they have never touched reports its default, and one with allowUnsubscribe: false always reports true.

401 · The access token is missing, expired, or not a property-manager token.

The list is fixed by MagicDoor rather than by the company: notifications aimed at tenants, owners or vendors never appear here, and neither do ones that have been retired. It is not paginated — the whole set comes back on every call.

A preference is on or off, full stop. There is no per-channel setting here — switching a notification off stops it reaching the caller by every route it would have used.
